A custom adhesive and equipment solution simplified double-sided dispensing for an underground mining application, reducing applications from three to one per side.<\/p>\n

The challenge<\/h2>\n

The customer’s components required UV adhesive on both sides. Operators manually dispensed the adhesive, left the components standing to allow bubbles to escape, and then cured them in a mercury-lamp oven. Each side required three rounds of dispensing and curing, resulting in six cycles per component and repeated manual handling.<\/p>\n

The components were intended for deep underground mining environments, where resistance to high temperatures and high humidity was required. Wiring and other structures also shielded some adhesive areas from UV light.<\/p>\n

The solution: adhesive and process developed together<\/h2>\n

XINCHENG combined a UV\/moisture dual-cure adhesive system with custom-designed dispensing and curing equipment. A single clamping setup and automatic alignment simplified positioning, while fixture rotation enabled processing of the opposite side.<\/p>\n

  1. Vacuum degassing before dispensing:<\/strong> remove entrapped air during adhesive preparation rather than relying on standing time after each application.<\/li>\n
  2. One dispensing application per side:<\/strong> replace three repeated applications on each side with one.<\/li>\n
  3. Ultrasonic-assisted leveling:<\/strong> use vibration to help the adhesive level rapidly after dispensing.<\/li>\n
  4. LED curing and fixture rotation:<\/strong> cure the first side, rotate the component, and repeat the process on the opposite side.<\/li>\n
  5. Secondary moisture cure:<\/strong> enable subsequent curing in areas shielded from UV light by wiring or other structures.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The project outcome<\/h2>\n

    The revised workflow reduced dispensing applications from six to two per component and brought positioning, dispensing, assisted leveling, and LED curing into a coordinated equipment sequence. This reduced repeated processing and handling steps.<\/p>\n
